- Hidlumane Falls

Hidlumane Falls - natural falls .very greenest as well as very beutiful falls.
4 km from bellakka village .and 45 km from hosanagar.

Hidlumane falls is a series of cascading falls with about 6 or 7 falls one after another. The beauty of these falls is that each of these falls are hidden from one another and they get better and better as you go up the cascade, culminating in a magnificient fall which is as secluded a waterfall as you can imagine! Kodachadri

bangalore--->tumkur---> arsikere--->shimoga---> rippanpet--->hosanagara---> nagara--->sampekatte--->just before nittur--->left deviation--->kumble school--->right deviation--->hidlumane falls  (350 km)

Hidlumane falls is a beautiful waterfall near Nitturu, hosanagara taluk, Shimoga. It is at the base of kodachadri hill around 10 kms from Nitturu. Around 45 km from hosanagara.
To reach the falls you need to trek through rocky hills filled up with lush trees all around. These falls are a series of waterfall with varying heights and majesty. To reach the other falls you should climb up the rocks on which the stream is coming or go through the thick forest where you will not find any path.

After Sampekatte, just before nittur, you will find a Y junction. Take left there which takes you to the jeep route to kodachadri hill. Continue till kumble school. Take right deviation (mud road) in front of the school which leads you to another Y junction. Take right where immediately you gett a steep up. Continue with the same mud road for around 5 km via another school (emme honDa school) till you a get a lonely house. From there its 1 km trek to the falls.

Another way of approach is from Nittur. After one or one and a half km walk on road towards kollur, take a left turn where you have a small bus stop at the left. This jeep track will take you to the house. From there its a km trek. This way is about 6 km from Nittur.
The way throughout is very scenic with lush green forest and paddy fields all around. You will be able to enjoy the pure western ghats.
This is a very beautiful stepped water falls. Don't come back thinking the first stream you get as the falls. Climb the rocks, if not possible take the alternative way through the forest. Go parallel to the stream, a huge, beautiful, ice cold water falls is waiting for you.
Jeep and 2 wheelers can go till that house, Cars may not. No food is available anywhere on the way or at the spot. So carry your food with you. Please don't throw any non-biodegradable substance (plastics, water bottles, plastic plates etc..) there. Enjoy and be one among the nature.
Kodachadri can be trekked via this falls also. Just follow the small path you find through the forest.
Best time to visit is in or just after the rainy season. Beware of leeches. Take lime or tobacco leaves as precaution for leech bite.
